Interesting
Damn! Que Er's past is a bit unsettling. I am glad that the emperor found him and made him as his attendant. However, it looks like he hasn't moved from his past.
I'd presume so... He needs to confront reality, but that's easier said than done.
I hope the emperor can enact a strict policy absolutely no killings done inside palace grounds. The whole place is literally crawling with ghosts everywhere, everyday.
Easier said than done. Consorts secretly kill each other all the time.
but how you enforce the law of not killing, if the punishment is also not killing ?
Outside the palace. The ghost can haunt other people.
Yeah and when the ghosts come back to haunt you for killing them outside the palace?
The simplest answer is that there is a marked difference between killing or lawful execution and murder.
Take the people outside the palace grounds when you want to execute them for breaking the rules?
*Imagine guards seeing a murder scene*
Guards:"Stop it right there! No murder in the palace!
Please continue outside! Thanks have a nice day :)"
löl dude politic back then is basically assasination game xD
MaoMao enters the chat.
Opening going where the ending's usually at and ending is early.
Yeah that was odd as hell.
It fits, though.
I guess yeah lol
This is weird that the ending theme is the one being played first before the opening theme lol
I saw someone said it's because the map might have some significant value in this story so they want to connect the OP right after showing the map at the end. Because people tend to skip the OP and didn't see the map
that makes sense. i understood now
Damn learning Wei Qing had the option of being a male prostitute or eunuch but went with eunuch because he didn't want to be a prostitute but was made to do the same things was just so sad, he probably had it worse because he would have resigned to doing what needed as a prostitute but as a eunuch it's not the sort of activity he should have been forced into.
I'm glad Wei Qing did go back to Shouxue for helping concerning Gaojun's nightmares, after their little argument I was wondering how they would make amends, I guess his desperation prioritized what needed to be done but I'm glad they did make proper amends too.
That eunuch part had me tripping thinking I misread shit hahaha poor homie ),:
did he? I guess sort of. He seemed demanding
I feel like the ghost, his mom and Ding Lan is trying to warn him about something? Some chinese drama i watch when i was young also like this. At first the ghost might seem like they are haunting him, but they are actually trying to warn him since in this case, the ghost are closely related to the emperor
This might be the curse that the Empress Dowager casted on him since the ghost have been appearing only recently
That flawless transition into the opening to close off the episode was *chef's kiss* 👌
Ghost in the dream
This show is so interesting I can't wait to find out what happens next!
Wei qing past was disturbing..but still he was rude to Liu..
thankfully she's not the one to get offended easily and was ready to help!
She was rude to his master, do you think her attitude was appropriate in any way to the castle's lord? She is in the wrong here.
Honestly yeah, obviously she doesn't have to discard her dignity and kiss the emperor's ass if he tries to harm her or treat her like garbage, but still she also can speak to and treat him in a respectful mature manner, he is the one being awfully chill and nice when he could easily cut her neck over it.
Exactly! He could have done that a long time ago if he were one of those ruthless tyrants, but he didn't bcs it seems he would like to be with her.
But obviously they have to make her too dense to realize it, like every damn Asian love story out there.
We see a pipa being used with a large plectrum in this episode. That is something that was done during the Tang Dynasty but was switch to mostly fingerpicking in the later dynasties. It heavily influenced the Japanese biwa that still used the large plectrum to this day. The use of the biwa and the koto, which is nearly identical to the Tang Dynasty version of the guzheng, shows how much the Tang Dynasty influenced Japanese culture.
I was not expecting Wei Qing's past to be so :( but I'm glad the emperor was able to give him a place and a purpose by his side, even if he is a gloomy unpleasant fellow lol
Oooh that ~mysterious~ map and flipping of the OP to the end?? Things are starting to move and I can't wait for the next episode
ED and OP reverse...and a longer arc...interesting...
At first I was going “why would you name someone Que Er” but that guy evidently realized the joke behind it.
At least we know now how Wei Qing has such massive balls to stand up to the Raven Consort, even though he’s an eunuch and therefore shouldn’t have any
Soooo, what's the joke?
Que Er. Queer.
Never said it was a good joke.
Ooooooohhh. Haha, okay then
A map
